Château Gruaud Larose, 2ème Cru Classé, St Julien, 2016

Produced from 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, Gruaud proved to be a little divisive. It certainly has swagger, plenty of charm and generosity. The fruit is lithe and pure with notes of minty cassis. It's quite sexy and toasty; an immediately engaging style of Gruaud.
