Château La Grande Maye, Côtes de Castillon, 2018

Paul and Cedric Valade's humble Grande Maye is one of our best-selling clarets. It is a firm favourite amongst the Mayfair clubs and savvy customers with an eye for value. The 2018 is produced from 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc and will be aged in one third new oak barrels. It's a dark and savoury Grande Maye with an abundance of mineral infused cassis and loganberry fruit. There are some smoky wood notes, hints of black olive, redcurrant and Valrhona chocolate. Another astonishingly good effort. Drink from 2025.
