The 2023 Labégorce has a well-defined bouquet with vivacious redcurrant, strawberry and violet scents that could only come from Margaux. The oak is neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with smooth tannins, well-judged acidity that lends just the right amount of tension. Lightly spiced on the finish that lingers in the mouth with pleasing saline notes on the aftertaste. This should age well in bottle.
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 Labegorce gives up notes of wild strawberries, red plums, and Bing cherries plus touches of wild thyme and pencil shavings. The medium-bodied palate is delicate and refreshing, with subtle savory flavors and lightly grippy tannins, finishing with lingering notes of fragrant herbs. The blend is 47% Cabernet Sauvignon. 45% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc.
