Château Lafleur Gazin
Château Lafleur Gazin, Pomerol, 2016
justerini & brooks tasting note
This Jean-Pierre Moueix estate is well situated between Gazin and La Fleur Petrus. The wines are best described as honest and quite chunky. This is no bad thing. The 2014 is packed with authentic Merlot fruit, touches of earth, garrigue and cheerful hedgerow fruit. It is a little rustic, but this is part of its charm. After a few years’ cellaring this will soften into a really enjoyable little drinker. A good dependable Pomerol.

Creamy blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, raspberry puree, white pepper spîce, cumin and baking spice, smoky tannins, a little abrupt on the finish.
