Deep garnet-purple colored. Comes bounding out with bold notes of black cherries and black raspberries, leading to hints of tar, sautéed herbs, and tilled soil. Light to medium-bodied, the palate delivers a refreshing line and plush tannins to match the elegant fruit, finishing with a spicy lift.
The 2024 Larrivet Haut-Brion feels muddled and a bit green on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with green notes on the entry. Hard and unyielding, this feels a bit hollow on the finish. It comes across like a wine upended by the challenges of the growing season.
Attractive floral character, violet, iris, the lean side of Cabernet Sauvignon, good nuance, leaning into the vintage, slim and savoury but still with impact. A little overly tight in its chalky tannins, but with real charm. Last vintage of Bruno Le Moine before retirement, replaced by Charlotte Mignon. Harvest 19 September to 5 October. The 2024 Larrivet Haut-Brion offers up aromas of peonies, strawberries and cassis blossoms mingled with green notes. Medium-bodied, tense and lively, it's lean with brittle tannins and a firm, angular finish dominated by green notes.
