Blason de l'Evangile, Pomerol
Château L'Evangile

Blason de l'Evangile, Pomerol, 2005

Available Vintages
justerini & brooks tasting note

The humble château at l’Evangile disguises the influence of the Barons de Rothschild, from Lafite, but the style and quality of the wines give the game away. This Blason, which consists of 77% Merlot and 23% Cabernet Franc, will only get a dash of new oak, but it is a wine that will live by its intense black fruit character so it needs no more. Very ripe, with a sense of heat and a good measure of liquorice in the background, this is a delicious wine with soft tannins and great length.

critic reviews

86/100Robert Parker,Robert Parker Wine Advocate

The showy, soft second wine, the 2005 Blason de lEvangile, exhibits aromas of cocoa, fudge, black cherries, and raspberries. Consume it over the next 7-8 years.
