Blanc de Lynch Bages, 2022
Lynch Blanc 2025 was bottled in April 2026 after a very short élevage compared to its peers. As usual it has a yellow colour with a green hue. Bright and fresh citrus on the nose; very high-toned. Green apple, gooseberry, lemon pith and greengage. Lots of primal citrus here but white pepper, toasted almond and a little peach stone and orange blossom add depth and resonance to the finish. Sauvignon fans will love this interpretation of the category. 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 24% Sémillon, 11% Muscadelle, 5% Sauvignon Gris.
critic reviews
Well structured, a little closed at this point, with a slate minerality evident in its texture. This manages to offer grip and lift, with mint leaf, coconut and subtle toasted hazlenut notes well balanced by juicy white nectarine and pear fruits. Good quality and stands out in the vintage. 7ha of white vines at Lynch Bages, planted largely in 1990 on gravelly soils in Saint Saveur, a commune close to Pauillac in the Médoc appellation. Fermented and aged in barrel, Nicolas Labenne winemaker.
The 2022 Echo de Lynch-Bages has a fresh, quite leesy bouquet, with touches of gooseberry and lime flower. The 50% new oak is neatly integrated. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, taut and fresh, fine salinity with a dab of stem ginger on the finish. Fine.
The 2022 Blanc de Lynch-Bages, tasted two weeks after bottling, is a blend of 67% Sauvignon Blanc, 22% Semillon, and 11% Muscadelle. It jumps from the glass with vibrant grapefruit, lemon curd, and white peach scents with hints of honeysuckle, lime blossom, and chalk dust. The medium-bodied palate vibrates with citrus energy, with a racy backbone and chalky finish. pH 3.2.
