Deep garnet-purple in color. Features notes of fresh blackberries and just-ripe plums with hints of Sichuan pepper, forest floor, and potpourri. The light to medium-bodied palate is bright and breezy with just enough freshness and lightly chewy tannins, finishing savory.
The 2024 Moulin Riche was picked between September 24 and October 10 and underwent some reverse osmosis, especially the Merlot. This has a more expressive bouquet than the preceding Pavillon de Léoville Poyferré, with iodine and blueberry unfolding in the glass. The palate is supple and fleshy on the entry with a smooth texture, quite polished tannins and a fresh, harmonious finish. This is much better than you'd think and well worth seeking out.
Vivid summery fruit character, with cheerful ruby red colour, with spice, freshly cut herbs, slate and graphite adding depth and interest. Lovely texture overall but needs a bit of time to soften, suggest four years before drinking. Harvest 24 September to 10 October. 3.62 pH. 26.42hl/ha
The 2024 Moulin Riche offers up aromas of cassis, cigar wrapper and oak, followed by a medium-bodied palate with a fleshy attack that segues into a somewhat angular and drying mid-palate and finish.
