Château Pedesclaux

Château Pédesclaux, though not as renowned as some of its Pauillac neighbours, enjoys a prime location near Mouton Rothschild and Pontet-Canet. The estate's origins trace back to the early 1800s when Urbain Pédesclaux, a prominent Bordeaux trader, acquired vineyards that became available after the Revolution and founded the estate in 1810. Representing the rise of the bourgeoisie in Médoc—a region previously dominated by aristocracy—Pédesclaux worked diligently to establish his estate’s reputation. In the 1855 classification of Bordeaux wines, Château Pédesclaux earned the distinction of Fifth Growth.

In 2009, Françoise and Jacky Lorenzetti took ownership of Château Pédesclaux. They expanded its holdings significantly over the following years, increasing its size from 26 to 50 hectares. The vineyards underwent extensive improvements including soil analysis and replanting efforts. By 2014, Château Pédesclaux had entered a new era with fully revitalised vineyards and state-of-the-art gravity-fed winery and cellaring facilities.
