Château Rayne Vigneau, 1er Cru Classé, Sauternes, 2025
Rayne Vigneau 2025 (70% Sémillon, 30% Sauvignon Blanc) has an unapologetically rich and exotic profile. Ripe honeydew melon, ginger and mango offer the opening gambit. On the palate you get tinned peaches in stem ginger syrup and dried apricots. Black treacle notes leave an indelible mark on the finish.
critic reviews
The 2025 Rayne-Vigneau has a backward nose with dried honey, yellow plum and almond scents, perhaps less forward than some of its peers. The palate is well balanced with a very pure entry, bright acids and a gorgeous, tender yet paradoxically powerful finish. Oh yes!
Vivid white mango and apricot, packs a punch with a silky texture and offers clarity of exotic fruit flavours with white flowers on the finish. Tasted twice. Owner Derek Smith. Harvest September 16 to October 8.
