The 2016 Chambolle-Musigny Les Chabiots 1er Cru has a loose-knit bouquet with attractive earthy red berry fruit laced with brown spices and a whiff of tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and well judged acidity, fresh from the start with a touch of piquancy on the lively finish. Not long term as it lacks the substance, but certainly well-crafted. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.
