Chassagne Montrachet, 2019
Classic, voluptuous Chassagne that rolls over the palate. Ripe golden fruit and acacia notes predominate, framed by a zesty freshness. From numerous parcels on the Puligny side of the Chassagne appellation. Fermentation and élévage take place in 350 litre barrels, with no bâtonnage, for 12 months before six months in stainless steel.
critic reviews
The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Village opens in the glass with aromas of mandarin, peach, white flowers and pastry cream. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming, with bright acids and a saline finish, it's more open-knit and immediate than its Puligny-Montrachet counterpart.
The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Village was a touch more subdued on the nose out of barrel, touches of nettle and white flower eventually emerge. The palate is well balanced with a saline entry. Here, there is more expressiveness and tension, citrus fresh with slithers of Clementine towards the pointed finish. Give this two or three years in bottle.
