    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Elegance and fine lines. Sweet lemons, polished minerality. This could only be Puligny – all on finesse, with a gentle tension and the finest texture. Produced exclusively from old vines from numerous plots including a particularly fine parcel on a slope called les Meix, near the Grands Crus, next to Enseigneurs. Fermentation and élévage take place in 350 litre barrels, with no bâtonnage, for 12 months before six months in stainless steel.

The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a stern bouquet with petrichor and Granny Smiths - perhaps needing a little more intensity? The well-balanced palate has a smooth entry, with lime and orange pith and a fine bead of acidity. But maybe its Chassagne-Montrachet counterpart finishes with a touch more complexity. Still, this will give a decade's of drinking pleasure.
