    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note
    Bachelet Monnot, Puligny Montrachet, 2012

Intense and tight-wound but so fine, real Puligny class and elegance; taut but rich flavours of citrus, lemon rind, butter and stone, the most complex villages the Bachelet brothers have made. From a fine villages plot on a slope called ‘les Meix’, near the Grands Crus, next to Enseigneurs.

The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Village has a stern bouquet with petrichor and Granny Smiths - perhaps needing a little more intensity? The well-balanced palate has a smooth entry, with lime and orange pith and a fine bead of acidity. But maybe its Chassagne-Montrachet counterpart finishes with a touch more complexity. Still, this will give a decade's of drinking pleasure.
