Corton-Charlemagne, Grand Cru, 2022

justerini & brooks tasting note

Much more expressive and open than the MSD, and yet this is very definitely not all fruit. Energy and snap are delivered with a fine saline seam, whilst the silky, easy texture belies real depth. Energetic, very complete and long. Very good! From two plots in Le Charlemagne, planted in 1972 and 1976, located in the upper part of the slope on the Pernand side of Aloxe-Corton where the wines offer ripeness and freshness in equal measure.

critic reviews

90-93/100William Kelley,Robert Parker Wine Advocate

Offering up aromas of pear, sweet citrus fruits, freshly baked bread and white flowers, the 2022 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is medium to full-bodied, satiny and elegantly layered, with bright acids, chalky extract and an elegant, understated style.

93-95/100Neal Martin,Vinous

The 2022 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a very delineated, focused bouquet, well controlled with citrus fruit, lemon verbena, and light orange pith scents. The palate is poised, quite intense and certainly has superb tension. There are Golden Delicious and light marzipan notes on the persistent finish, completing a very promising Corton Charlemagne.
