Chambolle Musigny, Les Cabottes, 2020
Sweet fine crisp raspberry aromas, a parade of fine red fruits and impressive freshness. An expressive Chambolle, with fine tannins and delicate flavours that weave across the palate with grace and charm. A blend of three parcels dotted around the Chambolle appellation, aged in less than a third new oak.
critic reviews
The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cabottes is finer boned and more elegant than the muscular Morey that preceded it, offering up inviting aromas of raspberries, plums, spices and rose petals that are framed by a discreet patina of new oak. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and seamless, it's lively and precise, concluding with a long, penetrating finish.
The Chambolle-Musigny Les Cabottes, picked over two tries through the vineyard, offers a mixture of red and black fruit, incense and light peony scents, just a faint tang of marmalade in the background. This feels very composed. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins, crisp acidity, taut and fresh with a very elegant and poised finish. Excellent.
