    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note
Château de Meursault, Corton, Vergennes, Grand Cru, 2016

Powerful but with real tension. Ripe yellow plum and peach notes mixed with an almost Perrières-like tension. Tight-coiled and long, this is intense and multi-layered, needing time and air to unwind and reveal its full force. An east facing Grand Cru underneath the Corton Clos des Cortons from Faiveley from which only three barrels are made each year. The soil here is poor and stony.

Aromas of peach, spices and menthol, plus an oaky element. Concentrated, rather masculine wine; a bit more aggressive than the Meursaults but showing excellent clarity of texture accentuated by a white pepper quality. More about power than finesse, with a slightly dry-edged finish suggesting that this wine will need patience.
