Morey St Denis, La Forge de Tart, 1er Cru, 2014

The first La Forge de Tart to be produced for three years, this is predominantly a blend of de-stalked young vine (25 years old and younger) fruit together with whole bunch fermentations from a parcel of primely-situated mid slope 30 year old vines. All of the fruit comes from within the Clos de Tart. The profile is very similar to its Grand Cru older brother but with a slightly fresher, more vigorous open-knit fresh red fruit character. Strong, intense but so lively and juicy this is awash with forest berry, cherry and damson flavours.
