Nuits-Saint-Georges, Les Ronciers, 1er Cru, 2023

A fragrant Nuits with a tremendous sense of freshness and driving structure. There’s grip and control and rigour to this, as you’d expect from a stony Nuits vineyard, and as a result the fruit is focussed and precise, from dark cherry to wild hedgerow to wildflower. Salt and fine earth touch the finish. A great shape, very good. A superb, steep vineyard with poor soils neighbouring Pruliers.
