Nuits St Georges, Les Bousselots, 1er Cru, 2022
justerini & brooks tasting note
Immediately and recognisably darker than the Chambolle, with cassis fruit and wildflowers, toast, earth and cacao too, but also a more vertical core with fresh mineral notes adding to the elemental feel. Bousselots is a vineyard on the Vosne side of the appellation whose soils tends to produce wines of structure and depth.

The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Bousselottes 1er Cru is also aged in 50% new oak, and again, that oak dominates the fruit profile at the moment. But there is a little more delineation than the Chambolle, a bit more tension. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannins, quite a carapace of new oak, rendering the finish attractive but rather generic compared to its peers. It will improve with some bottle age.
