The 2016 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru shows a lot of reduction on the nose that occludes the fruit and terroir expression. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, rather simplistic for a Grand Cru and with some dry wood tannins on the finish. I am not convinced about the ageing potential of this wine. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.
