Vosne Romanée, Aux Malconsorts, 1er Cru [SHC], 2015

Not the out-and-out richness and immediacy of the Corton Clos du Roi, but longer, finer and with even more potential. Subdued at first, but with great depth and intensity. High-toned but not too airy fairy, a taut stony edge gives this wine purpose and energy, notes of crisp raspberry, loganberry and red cherry with complex cocoa touches. Expansive, fine and long. All whole bunch fermented, aged in 55% new oak barriques.
