Aromas of sweet berries, cherries, dark chocolate, spices and toasty new oak introduce the 2022 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes, a medium to full-bodied, rich and layered wine with an unctuous core of fruit, ripe tannins and a long, lavish finish. Like its 2023 counterpart, it wears its heart on its sleeve.
The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes 1er Cru has a more backward bouquet: blacker fruit than the Nuits Saint-Georges, a light oyster shell influence coming through with time. The medium-bodied palate has rounded tannins, fleshy and sumptuous as Chambolle should be, but the acidic spine keeps this fresh and tensile. There is dark berry fruit, allspice and licorice towards the finish that lingers in the mouth. I would afford this Chambolle 4-5 years in bottle.
