Nuit St Georges, Les Didiers, 1er Cru, Hospices de Nuits, 2016

Lush, velvety-smooth crushed fruits. Rich and slick but not too heavy. Polished and silky - rather like a Vosne with a bit of extra weight. Beautofully vivid, caressing small dark berry fruit and asian spice flavours glide easily accross the palate. Les Didiers is a little- known Premier Crus as it is a monopole of the Hospices de Nuits. However the location is prime, being situated directly next to Les St Georges. Managed and made by a dedicated Hospices de Nuits team, Laurent Lignier buys the barrels and then takes care of the ageing and bottling himself.
