Nuits-Saint-Georges, Les Pruliers, 1er Cru, 2023
A dark-fruited and seductive Nuits with sweet spice notes and ripe, red-cherry accents. A touch of savoury, wild earth mingles with the sweet fruit, giving this a ying-yang character, while a string of fine yet firm tannin runs through the wine’s core. On the darker side, yet beautifully balanced. Les Pruliers, one of the unsung heroes of Nuits St Georges situated on the south side of the appellation, yields classic, complete Nuits that combines power, freshness, richness and minerality.
critic reviews
The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru is more backward on the nose compared to Grivot's other wines from the appellation. Its bouquet features dark berry fruit, earthy tones and a touch of ceps. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly lactic texture. It's quite smooth, with just a faint touch of fig, but there's good body and gentle grip toward the toasty finish. This is a fine Nuits Saint-Georges, but in this instance, I prefer the previous vintage.
