Vosne-Romanée, 2023
One of the finest Vosne villages you will find. Aromatic, seductive and with great vitality to balance the silky ripe forest fruit and damson flavours. There is plenty of wine and density here for a villages, yet such silkiness and finesse. Notes of red and dark berry with a hint of sap and herb giving the ripe, sweet fruit a vital edge. The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Village is quite understated on the nose. Forest floor scents mix with incense as red berry fruit tones gently unfurl in the glass, though it doesn't make too much of a fuss. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, pretty red fruit mixed with blood orange on the entry and moderate weight. It is finely balanced with a dash of white pepper on the finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle and you'll have a lovely Vosne Village on your hands.
