Chablis, 2018
A wine that punches well above its price tag, the Chablis from Moreau Naudet benefits from serious artisanal winemaking and excellent vineyard sites. . Emanating from kimmeridgean clay soils around the prime villages of Prehy and Courgis and aged in tank sur lie for 16 months, this offers a wonderfully fruity and generous expression of the 2018 vintage without ever forgetting its Chablisienne origins. Fluid, silky-textured yellow plum, peach, guava and citrus flavours wash calmly across the palate, leaving in their wake a tangier, more saline note of stone and oyster shell. A beautiful, heady marriage of the unctuousness that accompanies ripe vintages and the tempering minerality of classic Chablis.
critic reviews
The 2018 Chablis Village has a very attractive nose that is a cut above its peers, offering well-defined citrus aromas and a little more mineralité. The palate is taut and fresh with a fine bead of acidity, refreshing and sharp, and classic in style, leading to a malic, apple peel finish. This is a well-crafted wine that trades the prettiness of the vintage for something more identifiably Chablis.
