Chambolle Musigny, 2022
Quite a serious, red fruit and stone dominated nose, demands a little time of the taster – and then on the palate the habitual play between the vineyards with an almost dual textured feel, one rocky and full of tension, the other seductive texture and rich and sumptuous. Irresistible, sensual, charming and tactile, with a luminous quality throughout. A very serious ‘villages’ made up of 40% premier cru fruit from Orveaux. As usual this contains fruit from a wonderful villages parcel of 100-year-old vines situated near the Bussiere of Morey (60%) and also includes Perrot-Minot's famed 1er Cru Combe d'Orveau cuvee (40%).
critic reviews
The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Orveau Bussières has a perfumed, star anise-tinged bouquet with red cherry and redcurrant aromas, quite lively in the glass. The well-balanced palate has crunchy tannins, slightly granular in texture at the moment. It is somewhat more saline than the preceding Morey Village with a persistent finish. This is very promising.
