Aromatic flowers and purple fruits, violets and sweet plums, a seductive, sweet fruited Champs Perdrix, all flowing allure and silky tannins at first, then, as sweet red fruits flood the finish, you find freshening notes of salt and fine stones too. Polished, yet not without structure, this is full of energy, animation and expression; a restless river of fine seduction.

The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Les Champs Perdrix Vieilles Vignes has a resolutely stony/rocky bouquet, touches of wilted rose petals coming from the stems, the red fruit "coiled up” at the moment. The palate is well-balanced with fine tannins. Quite linear in style, an appealing "strictness" and pastille-like purity emerges towards the lingering finish. Good energy. Give it two or three years in bottle.
