    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

This is the domaine’s oldest vineyard, planted in 1940 and its smallest production – there are rarely more than four barrels made and the old vine character shows. For as flowery as this is, it is closed and deep. The wine shows massive concentration of flavour and great intensity but, incredibly, a weightlessness at the same time; elegant, silky, sweet fruit notes of lime, lime flower, citrus rind and honeysuckle. Striking beauty.

Pale, green-tinged straw-yellow. Closed, ripe nose hints at citrus peel and honey; smells like small golden grapes. Rich, dense and tactile but at the same time chiseled and delicate; a very feminine style of grand cru. Quite dry and less showy today than the Combettes but explosive on the back half, displaying a distinctive saline character. Hard to judge today and in need of patience.
