Charmes Chambertin, Grand Cru, 2006
'Brilliant ruby. A reluctant but pretty red berry and very earthy nose that displays plenty of Gevrey sauvage character trimmed in a bit of wood gives way to admirably rich and full-bodied flavors that possess admirable size, power and weight while culminating in a long and harmonious finish. This is not super concentrated but there is sufficient extract for the amount of structure and should age well.92/100'. - Allen Meadows, www.burghound.com

Medium red. Candied red fruits and flowers on the nose. Quite floral and perfumed in the mouth; not especially dense but boasts a subtle sweetness and good richness. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins that build with air. Perhaps a bit aggressive on the back today: this vineyard was hit by hail in 2006.
