Chablis, Côte de Léchet, 1er Cru, 2017
justerini & brooks tasting note
A rockier terroir than Beauroy and it shows. Tight-knit, leaner but packed with flavour with its distinctly mineral and salty character. A little like the Chablis villages in style though offering more depth, and a riper fruit and acidity. Tense, mouth-puckering flavours of rock salt but with a little more flesh than usual. An accomplished Lechet.

The 2017 Chablis Côte de Léchet 1er Cru has a generous bouquet with scents of orange rind, earth and light flinty notes. It is a little introspective at the moment. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, taut and linear with a saline undertow that surfaces on the vivacious finish. Just a great Côte de Léchet.
