Leflaive
Puligny Montrachet, 2012
justerini & brooks tasting note
This shows the richness of the Bourgogne; with the extra finesse you would expect from Puligny. Concentrated and packed with extract, exhibiting notes of stones, citrus rind, nut and butter. A Puligny Villages that originates from seven different Villages parcels, the oldest vines of which were planted in the 1950s and 60s.

Subtle aromas and flavors of peach, menthol and mint. Serious and pure if a bit youthfully streamlined. Best today on the dry, rich, rather backward finish, which displays good minerality for village wine. (Incidentally, Leflaive's 2012 Bourgogne Blanc, which I tasted from tank just before it was bottled, is particularly chewy, sweet and complex for its appellation.)
