91/100Stephen Tanzer,Vinous
Good bright red-ruby. Briary dark cherry, currant and spicy oak on the nose and palate, with complicating notes of menthol and licorice; this smells ripe! Broad, supple and fat, boasting more volume than the 2007 version but less class and definition. This rather deep wine, carrying 14% alcohol without chaptalization, finishes with substantial dusty tannins.
