Nuits St Georges, Les Boudots, 1er Cru, 2023
From the Vosne side of the Nuits appellation, this is broad, ripe and fleshy but silkily textured; a particularly bright and successful Boudots, brimming with succulent forest berries fruits, bilberry, sweet raspberry liqueur and wild strawberry fruit; long, smooth and vibrant with typical Nuits density.
critic reviews
The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Boudots 1er Cru has a perfumed nose with iris flowers and a touch of peony infusing its mainly black fruit—although here I am seeking a little more presence, as with the 2022. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, and the 60% new oak becomes just a little vocal toward the finish. Hopefully, the terroir expression will develop more once that has been assimilated. At present, the Aux Murgers is showing Les Boudots how it's done.
