La Grande Rue, Grand Cru, 2019
Richness and complexity sewn together by incredibly detailed tannic stitchwork. Profound, long and effortless, the palate offers notes of fresh red berries with a deeper touch of anise, cinnamon and forest floor. Serious and long, this is profound yet weightless - gliding effortlessly to a long finish and garlanded along the way by a shimmer of bright fruit. La Grande Rue is an exceptional vineyard that sits next to La Tache and was granted the honour of Grand Cru status in 1992.
critic reviews
The 2019 La Grande Rue Grand Cru is aromatically tailored in a similar vein to the domaine’s other Grand Crus: ethereal and floral in style with rose-petal-infused red fruit, the quintessential Pinoté, and hints of crushed rock developing with time. The palate is medium-bodied with lithe tannins, cohesive and poised, gaining weight with aeration toward a very pixelated finish and leaving a ferrous aftertaste. Very fine, very feminine.
