Chassagne-Montrachet, Les Caillerets, 1er Cru, 2018
justerini & brooks tasting note
Although you can see glimpses of yellow fruit, honeysuckle and sunshine in this it is holding plenty in reserve. Tightly-coiled long flavours of yellow plum crushed stones and a twist of green olive. Just the right side of austerity. Driven and finely-poised. A high, stony vineyard of 50 years old, one of the very best in Chassagne. The wine is aged in just 10% new oak.
