Chassagne Montrachet, Rouge, Clos St Jean, 1er Cru,

A typically floral, finely perfumed Clos St Jean, with orange peel notes, aromatic herbs and wilted roses - real aromatic complexity and wonderfully fine tannins, so often a marker of this site. Sleek, lovely and very complete. Fermented with 100% whole bunches, this is a vineyard with a great reputation for making red wine, this stunning Clos has poorer soils than many of the other, more clay dominated vineyards in Chassagne such as Morgeot and the result is wines of greater finesse.
