Nuits-Saint-Georges, Les Pruliers, 1er Cru, 2020
One of the brighter, redder fruited wines of the cellar in 2020, the Pruliers is muscled and ripe but full of spark, too. A concentrated mix of minerals red berries, bramble and damson with a rich note of creme de mure. Excellent length and finish; there is terroir teeming from its every pore. One of Nuits' unsung heroes, Les Pruliers is well situated with a gentle slope and a good mix of clay and stones, consistently producing very complete, structured, mineral wine in the typical Nuits mould.
critic reviews
The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Pruliers 1er Cru has a powerful bouquet of graphite-infused black fruit and freshly rolled tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied and quite fresh with fine balance and salinity, though I think this is beginning to close up.
The 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers is showing especially well, soaring from the glass with notes of raspberries, cherries, sweet spices, raw cocoa and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, bright and vibrant, with lively acids and a deep core of concentrated fruit, it's framed by ripe, powdery tannins and concludes with a long, penetrating finish.
