Nuits-Saint-Georges, Les St Georges, 1er Cru, 2024
An expressive St Georges that offers up a medley of wildly complex fruit, running from raspberry to peach to hedgerow berries. On the palate this offers up all the velvety power of LSG – volume, dimension and enrobed fruit that’s both compelling and complex and seductive – in a wine that is already hugely compelling to consider. There’s lots to get into here.?The great vineyard of Nuits St Georges, perfectly situated mid slope, that has the potential to be the region's only grand cru.

The 2024 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Saint-Georges 1er Cru was not spared the onslaught of the season and reduced to three barrels. Nevertheless, it has admirable purity on the nose with redcurrant, pomegranate and touches of bergamot tea on the nose, a little more mineralité underneath. The palate is very harmonious and silky smooth. Beautifully balanced with a fine backbone towards the finish, albeit without a sustained aftertaste. Still, this constitutes just a lovely Les Saint-Georges.
