Chambolle Musigny, Les Clos de L'Orme, 2017
justerini & brooks tasting note
Classically Chambolle. Suave with energy pulsating through the soft bramble and raspberry fruit. There is a bright hint of red cherry and a cool, earthy complexity and bright minerality. From 70 year old vines that always yield small, concentrated “millerande” berries situated just below Premier Cru Les Plantes. The mother rock is close to the surface here adding a minerality and tension to the wine. The wine is aged in 50% new oak.

The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Clos de l’Orme, matured in 50% new oak, has an elegant, expressive bouquet of raspberry, wild strawberry and sous-bois aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip, and quite tight at the moment, perhaps just needing a little flesh to come through on the finish.
