Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

Vitteaut Alberti, Crémant de Bourgogne, Blanc de Blancs, Brut, NV

Vitteau-Alberti are a family domaine with 22ha based in Rully, a prime location for Cremant production – something they uniquely specialise in. The Blanc de Blancs is a blend of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Aligote from vineyards in Rully and Hautes Cotes de Beaune. Aged between 16-18 months sur lie before degorgement. The aim is to achieve 12.5% alcohol and no more than 8g/litre of residual sugar to produce a wine that is complete, textured and generous but still light and refreshing to drink. Ripeness, enough but not too much, is key here as is purity of flavour. A fluid, refined but crisp Cremant, gentle citrus blossom floral touches precede an edgy citrus and lemon rind freshness with a herbal twist complimenting the peach fruit. Attractive, balanced and refreshing without being austere. The long, clear and dry finish makes for a very moreish and accomplished Cremant.
