Sancerre, Harmonie, 2023
Harmonie comes from vines in the lieux-dits Pèlerine and La Plante des Prés, on a mix of Kimmeridgian and Oxfordian limestone. It is aged for up to 12 months, with two thirds in 600-litre demi-muids and one third in large wooden vats. The 2023 opens with a layered and lifted aromatic profile of tangerine citrus, conference pear and delicate white stone fruit. The palate is crisp and juicy, with excellent concentration and freshness, framed by a fine chalky structure that carries through to a long, citrus-driven finish.
critic reviews
The 2023 Harmonie is very finely constructed. It hails from two plots of old vines that fermented in large wooden vats and amphorae. This is delicately textured with a pear fruit-tinged profile verging on ripe pineapple. It is a very chalky, light-bodied and intense style. There’s real push and pull to this with 13 months on lees providing extra texture. The 2023 is refined and balanced.
