Alain Voge

Domaine Alain Voge is awidely respected, traditional name in Cornas and Saint Péray. Since Alain’s passing in 2020, the estate has been run by Lionel Fraisse who apprenticed for the role since 2012 under Alain’s wing. The estate is 13HA, of which 8HA is in Cornas, 4HA in Saint Péray and 1HA in St Joseph. Certified fully organic and working to biodynamic principals, the wines are a combination of sensibly grouped blends from the upper, middle and lower slopes of Cornas and Saint Péray, and rarer single vineyards. The whites are all 100% Marsanne, and there is even a distinctive single vineyard sparkling wine, which sees a full five years on lees before disgorgement. As a point of historical fact, in the 19th and early 20th centuries, Saint Péray was principally a sparkling wine village. The steady decline in bubbles over the past century is a sorry tale, so much so that the domaine has decided to pioneer a revival!
