The shimmering straw-gold 2019 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Pure is a single varietal Clairette aged on its fine lees in demi-muids for 15 months. The 2019 Pure unveils lively aromas of dried pear, white peach, jasmine, flintstone, grapefruit and a dash of candied pineapple. Medium to full-bodied, rich and perfectly balanced by fresh acidity, it concludes with great tension on the sapid finish. Only 1,200 bottles produced.
All Clairette from les Pialons, the 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Pure Blanc is an assemblage of two lots: 500 liters that went into a demi-muid and 400 liters that went into tank. The result is toasty and fine on the nose, with hints of white peach and lime, while the palate is medium-bodied, tightly wound yet silky, with a long, zesty finish.
