Domaine Henri Bonneau represents 12 generations of wine growers, indeed, Henri Bonneau’s first vintage was made in 1956.
A house with a green shutter encompass the cellars of Henri Bonneau, who sadly passed in March 2016. His domain covers only 6 ha., mainly planted with Grenache – which accounts for more than 90% of the blend, with small amounts of Mourvedre, Counoise and Vaccarèse.
With extremely low yields, about 10-12 hl/ha., harvesting is late, maceration is not exaggerated and fermentation takes place in cement tanks to be finished in very old barrels from Burgundy, remaining in these barrels until it is ready to be bottled - maybe 6, 8 or 10 years. These are simple yet exquisitely rare wines.
