    Justerini & Brooks Tasting note

The 2022 Cornas is a wine of ripe, aromatic finesse. It is sappy and floral with high toned forest and brambly fruits, underpinned by smooth dark berries and a core of peppery, iron-rich minerality. It has such beautiful balance that it is a pleasure to taste, though like all great Cornas the 2022 will continue to age without hesitation. A mostly destemmed cuvee designed to showcase the beauty of the appellation and the purity of Syrah in a more easy-going style; this gorgeous Cornas comes highly recommended. Fermented in stainless steel and aged for a year in used demi-muids barrels.

    Critic Reviews

Entirely destemmed and matured in used large barrels, the 2022 Cornas wafts from the glass with aromas of dark wild berries, spices, flowers and carnal/animal-like notes. Medium to full-bodied, enrobing and sweet, it's layered with a fleshy core of fruit, velvety tannins and a long, ethereal and pencil lead-inflected finish. This is a stunning Cornas made from Saveaux, Patou and Les Cotes plots, with 40% of the grapes for this wine coming from the foot of the hill.
