A rare Goldkapsel to cap this highly attractive range, Fuder 9 is again the only GK produced by the estate this year, amounting to just 1200 bottles in total. The botrytis required to achieve this level of concentration and complexity was hard to come by as the grapes needed rigorous sorting to separate good rot from bad. Clearly the bunches in this blend were the good ones, as this 2024 is immensely silky and lovely with a deep undertow of stones and salts. It positively shimmers on the palate. Wonderful.

The 2024 Riesling Brauneberger Juffer Auslese Goldkapsel #9 was made with around 35% of botrytized fruit. Greengage and pale yellow plum aromas frame the lime on the nose. The intensity and concentration of the botrytized fruit only appear as supple, gentle sweetness on the midpalate, where brightness takes equal billing. This is the sweetest wine in the line-up, offering candied pineapple notes exquisitely contoured by lemon and lime. What a slender, elegant and sweet little number. (Sweet)
