Lieser Niederberg Helden, Riesling, Auslese, 2021

Sadly, this is the only regular Auslese this year and quantities are miniscule! No botrytis just a selection of the best, ripest fruits they could find, fermented down to 90-95g/l residual sugar. Intensely youthful, compact and direct, with an electrifying, borderline hairraising acidity. High toned blue, red and tropical fruits, less unctuous in mouthfeel compared to the Spätlese, the Auslese is all on the tense, taut and laser-like line. One to buy and forget about for the next ten years.
