Pristine and more in-check than the Herrenberg, less about fluidity and flair, more about herbal kicks and revitalising salts, with fine, cool earth notes and peach stones. A subtle floral note emerges with air along with a sharp, fresh pineapple twist. Very refined and a clear vehicle for vineyard character, both GGs are well worth your attention.

The 2023 Riesling Maximin Grünhäuser Abtsberg Grosses Gewächs beckons with juicy, ripe yellow plum. The ripe yet stony palate tingles with citrus zest, making the mouth water. Freshness intertwines with juicy ripeness against a slate backdrop. The finish is long, clean and impressively zesty.
