Graacher Domprobst, Riesling, Spätlese, Fuder 5, 2018

A step up in richness and complexity here, greater length and depth, shimmering minerality covered by a sheen of flesh and structure. Time is required here for at present the pure slate character of this steep part of Domprobst is only visible on the finish. But that finish is very long indeed. A mouth-coating Spatlese of immense persistence, not far off an Auslese level of intensity and concentration.
